SCHEDULING YOUR RESTORATION GROUPS USING THE HUMAN CALENDAR

SCHEDULE YOUR GROUPS TO FIT THE HUMAN SOCIAL CALENDAR

As you plan your support groups, think about the normal human social/cultural calendar and schedule your groups to fit the calendar. I recommend that you begin a WINTER GROUP the 2nd-3rd week of January with plans to end by Spring Break ending by mid-March. A SPRING GROUP should be scheduled to begin the first of March ending by the end of May. A SUMMER GROUP should begin the first week of June ending by the end of August. A FALL GROUP should begin by the 2nd week of September concluding by Thanksgiving.

It is not recommended to start a group in February due to the conflict with spring break. Neither is it good to start a group in April because it falls into summer vacation. Likewise, starting a group in July will be interrupted by the Labor Day Weekend. Beginning a group in October will always conflict with Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

If you want people to attend your meetings, plan them around the human social calendar of major holidays and events.

Conflicts that prevent participants from attending also hinder those who help you.

Choose the dates of your group at least 3 – 6 months ahead so that you have time to organize, schedule your team, and arrange all the materials needed.

When planning a group, don’t overlook placing your order for the needed copies of the recovery model you are using. Users of FREE ME TO LIVE, are asked to give us a minimum two weeks to print their order on-demand. The manuals are printed on-demand and are normally shipped within 4 -7 business days after receipt of your order. Therefore, allow up to two weeks lead time between the date you order the materials and the date of your group.

REFLECT:
How often do you conduct a recovery course?
How long does your course take to complete?
How many serve on your leadership team?
